Physicist in the Beam Instrumentation Group
Main responsibilities:
- LHC beam-based feedback system, related instrumentation and diagnostics tools
- High-Frequency RF and optical systems measuring fast-intra-bunch beam position and longitudinal profile
- Fostering the joint CERN-Australian (ACAS) collaboration related to novel beam instrumentation
- Development of new and improvement of existing orbit & Q/Q’ instrumentation and diagnostics systems
- Follow-up of diagnostics- and beam-physics related issues, in particular commissioning of the LHC
- Supervision of Summer-, Technical- and Ph.D students
